Job Description

Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer to create 3D models and drawings for our client, a leading manufacturing of industrial equipment. In this role, you will be required to meet with engineers to discuss design concepts for CAD models, develop product designs, and generate mechanical drawings and shop drawings. To ensure success as a Designer, you should have extensive experience working with 3D modelign software, advanced design skills, and a keen eye for detail.
 
 
Essential Functions:

  • Create drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from the Sales and Applications Engineering team.
  • Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings. (SolidWorks)
  • Work with Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation.
  • Work closely with Designers and Engineers to ensure coordination design effort is maintained.
  • Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule.
  • Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain all revisions of project drawings.
  • Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
  • Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
  • Prepare engineering documents for customer submittals and manufacturing.

 
Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate degree in Engineering required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous professional experinece with equipment design.
  • High level of proficiency with SolidWorks.  Other modeling software will be considered with strong industry experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge in capital equipment, welding, custom fabrication, and/or piping.
  • Knowledge of state safety and structure regulations.
  • Excellent technical design skills.
  • Proficient with 3D modleling.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software.
  • Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Develops effective relationships with team members.
  • Independent and self-motivated to achieve goals.
  • Effective time-management skills understand priorities and deliver on agreed goals.
  • Ability to work effectively both in-office and remote.
