Position Overview: Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Piping Coordinator to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of pipe routing, isometrics, and materials coordination, with a proven track record of effectively managing piping-related activities on complex engineering projects. As a Piping Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient coordination of piping design, procurement, and installation activities to support the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review piping specifications, P&IDs, and other project documents.
  • Interpret piping drawings, isometrics, and layout plans to identify and resolve conflicts or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with piping designers, drafters, and engineers to develop piping routing plans and isometric drawings.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of piping materials specifications and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Interface with procurement and supply chain teams to coordinate the procurement of piping materials and components.
  • Maintain accurate records of piping materials, including quantities, specifications, and procurement status.
  • Monitor and track the progress of piping fabrication and installation activities to ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify the quality and integrity of piping installations.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and vendors, to address piping-related issues and concerns.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on piping-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in piping design, coordination, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting piping drawings, isometrics, and layout plans.
  • Strong understanding of piping materials, fittings, and components.
  • Knowledge of piping design standards and codes (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
  • Familiarity with piping design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in oil & gas or specialty chemicals is a plus.
