Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview: TalentBridge is partnered with a Charlotte based manufacturing organization and we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team and play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing manufacturing equipment and processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep of existing machinery, designing innovative new equipment, and updating older systems to improve efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, implementing corrective actions promptly.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Design and develop new manufacturing equipment based on project requirements and industry standards.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed equipment designs.
  • Evaluate existing machinery and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Propose and implement upgrades to enhance the performance and efficiency of older equipment.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements to recommend state-of-the-art solutions for equipment enhancement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to understand their requirements and incorporate feedback into equipment designs.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to source components and materials for equipment manufacturing.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of equipment specifications, modifications, and maintenance records.
  • Create detailed reports on equipment performance, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferabley with a focus on manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software for design purposes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with automation and robotics in manufacturing.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural analysis.
  • Project management skills for overseeing equipment projects from conception to implementation.
